REQUIREMENTS FOR THE APPLICATION FOR A SPECIAL LICENCE
for visitors who do not live in Trinidad and Tobago:-
The couple must both be in Trinidad and Tobago at least three days prior to the date of the intended marriage.
NOTE: The day of arrival is not counted in that three day period
The Wedding APPLICATION :
The wedding couple must apply in person to the office of theThe Registrar of Marriages, Registrar General’s Department, Jerningham Street, Scarborough, Tobago :
or, if in Trinidad - to The Registrar of Marriages, Register General’s Department, Red House, Abercromby Street, Port of Spain,
or, alternatively at Any District Registrar i.e. Warden’s Officer in the country.
What DOCUMENTS are REQUIRED
The wedding couple must Both produce:
- 1. Identification
- 2. Proof of entry documentation – e.g. passports, immigration cards, airline tickets etc.
- 3. If divorced, certified copy of final divorce decree (with a notarized translation if not written in English)
- 4. If widowed, certified copy of death certificate of former spouse
- 5. If either party is under 18 years of age, written consent of the parent or guardian
FEES PAYABLE
Three hundred thirty seven dollars and fifty cents ($337.50) TT currency (approx. equivalent to US $56.00 - please check the current exchange rate)
ALL FEES MUST BE PAID IN CASH - IN TT DOLLARS - AT THE REGISTRAR GENERAL’S DEPARTMENT
